Thrill Issues

*Ahem*

The Slide of Terror.

It might not look so daunting, but this monstrosity is a good 10 feet tall. And, of course, Audrey adores it.

The slide is named such because this momma can't follow Audrey to the top while keeping her stomach intact. So I keep a careful hand under her (from the ground) and then pray she slides down the front of the slide and not the back.

Actually it's not so bad.

...that was a lie.

Anyway, today we dropped Roy off very early at the hotel and brought the car back, since he'll most likely be there aaaallll day. We did a little last-minute shopping (before heading to OK for Thanksgiving!) and then headed to the park for a run.

It was a spectacular day for a run...

Audrey was a big fan. :)

And then there was this pretty little thing... never seen one of those before!

We had a nice little run and went down the slide a few times (of course). Not the Slide of Terror, a much more up-to-date and safer one. :-P

So I can't wait for Roy to get home today. I keep finding little surprises that he'll really like and so he needs to get home.

First on the list is this...

When I was at the grocery store this morning they were pulling out some HOT whole wheat tortillas...YUM! Roy really likes quesadillas, and I never make them, soooo why not?

Anyway, I certainly have more than enough to keep me busy, so I'm trying to, um, keep busy. :)

I'll leave you with this (quite wonderful) picture from the other night when we went to the hot tub... I have no idea what they were doing, but it's cute!

Draggy

Heyo.

This post is for Diane, who claims to like reading this blog and requested more posts! :)

Well, today has been a little rough. Since Wednesday I feel like tiredness has hit me like a ton of bricks and today has proven to be no different. I woke up with Roy and Audrey as usual, but that didn't last long. After breakfast I fell in and out of sleep while Audrey watched Bugs (A Bug's Life). She was super fussy and on the verge of falling asleep herself so I eventually put her in bed and went to bed myself. I awoke to really loud clanging sounds, and I never actually figured out what they were...

We just had popcorn for lunch. What has the world come to?

I think this might have been the first time she's eaten popcorn - wow! When the bowl gets low, she starts eating with one hand and hoarding with the other...

Audrey has been learning her "ABC's" ...and she might or might not think that it is universally understood that "'A' is for 'Audrey'" hehe. She also thinks every electronic screen is a touch screen. Can you imagine never knowing otherwise?!

The other night we stopped by the nearest mall, and they had a Disney store........

Although Audrey was much more excited about the Godiva store, and I must say I can't blame her.

Last Saturday we went to this really cool park that right by us. There are several REALLY cool running trails, and I'll have to take pics soon!

Someday Audrey and I are going to document our apartment and such....the park...etc. Lots of pictures to come - promise!

Just Another November Day

Well, yesterday started bright and early (at 5:30) as most days do... since we've been here. It's amazing what I find myself accomplishing before 9am. The whole day feels later than it should, which I'm not a huge fan of. Hopefully we'll be adjusting one day soon. I'll keep you posted.

I am currently writing to you from here:

It is currently 83 degrees in sunny San Antone, and we intend to fully appreciate the warmth. Audrey has a blast running through the shallow water and splashing. She loves to find little acorn tops, sticks, leaves and whatever else is lying around and chunk it into the water. This is what happens when you leave your pool open year-round, right? This water oasis is also conveniently situated right beside the wash room, so we can switch loads in between water episodes.

Audrey had to wave goodbye to the clothes and let them know we were not abandoning them and would be back shortly.

(P.S. Honey is close by checking emails. :)

Anyway, so we switch out clothes and head straight back to the pool.

Today we're back by the pool, same scenario. Audrey is having as much fun as ever.

In the last one she was running toward me and hadn't realized how much deeper the water gets when you go that direction. Hehe. Btw, where is Heather and your camera skills when you need her??

Ok. Dryer time. :)

On Our Way!

Well, Monday morning did indeed come bright and early.. only without the bright part. Mostly just early I guess.

We were on the road by 6:30 (Roy's alarm didn't go off so we didn't get off as early as hoped for). Audrey was much more awake than she should have been, and was quite the little chatterbox.

Stopped for Chick-fil-a, gas and a diaper change a couple hours later, ate lunch on the road and made it to Baton Rouge around 3:30 or so. We checked in at the hotel and then headed to the nearest Bass Pro shop (naturally...?).

Audrey was very excited about the ducks and fish, and even all the stuffed things. We had quite an educational experience!!

Cozy, huh?

My cuties :)

And then there was this guy....

200(ish) pounds of reptilian scaryness. Check out that head!! As if alligators weren't scary enough.. I am NEVER going bayou-ing.

Between the beloved Daylight Savings fall back, and the time zone change, we were all sorts of messed up. Everyone was in bed at 7:30 that night, and Audrey was up at 4:50 the next morning (actually, we were all awake as Audrey fell off the 3-foot bed in her sleepy stupor). The plan was to sleep in a little, eat breakfast around 7 and then get on our way... oh well.

We packed up and headed out. :)

The drive across the western 2/3rds of Louisiana is a little daunting. Pretty sure EVERY time I've driven across the 20 miles of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge it's looked like this:

Lovely, huh?

Somehow we made it, with all our limbs, fingers and toes intact. (Side note: If you're bored and want to be a little freaked out, google "lost in the atchafalaya basin" "deaths in...." "bodies found in...")

After a quick stop in Houston at the Kolache Factory, we made it to our Home Sweet Home somewhere after 3. We unloaded the car, unpacked the kitchen, made beds, cooked the frozen pizza my wonderful husband thought to put in the freezer last week and headed to bed early... well, except for me. I had a training call at 8:45, and despite my best efforts I couldn't keep my eyes open so I set an alarm for 8:42. Goodness.

Ok, its snack, Greens, and go-for-a-run-to-the-park time!

With all the widespread depression from the election results, I just had to post...
How could it not be a fabulous morning when you wake up to this?

Last Weekend & Lots of Goodbyes

Ok, so this was a whirlwind weekend!
On Friday Deborah came over with the girlies and made quick work of packing up the kitchen while Claire kept me company with the clothes.:)

Friday night was daaaate niiiiight (!!!!) since we didn't have kiddo! Friends, coffee, movie, dinner, out past MIDNIGHT! Woohoo!

On Saturday I took Roy to the UGA - Ole Miss football game for our anniversary. It was very bizarre cheering for a non-OU team, but it was a lot of fun. You have to love college game day atmosphere!!

Our last day at home rolled around all too quickly. Sunday morning there were lots of tears at church, goodbyes to the Turners, an afternoon full of packing, and an evening at the Nall's saying one last goodbye. Fortunately, there was no time to get caught up in the emotion of it all...early to bed and up before dawn Monday!
